Sixteen fabulous ladies from Leeds Flamingos, Norton Flames, Fitzy Foxes & Upton Emeralds along with their instructors Purple Hurricane and Bombshell Blu took part in a Burlesque-a-thon; 6hrs x 6 dance routines, on Saturday 26th March 2022.
Together they raised a fantastic £2670 for Motor Neurone Disease (MND)
Why MND? We wanted to raise awareness and sponsorship to support MND mainly due to a fabulously brave and determined lass called Michelle Forbes,(I have her permission) who has MND. She wanted to see if she could join the class as she used to be a dancer. The Leeds Flamingos welcomed her with open arms. She now has a video of herself dancing Moulin Rouge.
Unfortunately her disease has progressed enough that she can only take part from her wheelchair. She came and supported us on the day and joined in with the arm and head movements. Her smile and positivity kept us going through those 6hrs. She is a warrior and we stand with her in the fight against MND.
