Hi. My name is Mitzi Cascabel and I love to dance, but I have never worked in the performing arts.
My background is in social work (23 years!) and garden design and maintenance (21years!) and I am now a qualified archery coach and training to be an archery judge. So my dancing has only been for fun.
I have tried various styles, ballroom and latin, jazz, adult ballet and burlesque and although I have only been attending Burlesque Chair Dance since October 2021, I love the classes so much that, when the current instructor said that she was leaving, I agreed to take over.
Burlesque Chair Dance classes are for women from all walks of life, of all shapes and sizes and any level of fitness. You do not have to have danced before – classes are all about increasing your confidence and fitness, stimulating your mind through learning the routines, and, most importantly, having fun.
We have a really friendly, supportive group of ladies, who build each other up and show how empowering it is to accept your own body, with all its limitations and wobbly bits, and just dance!
