Helloooo there all!
Wow I can’t believe it’s my turn to blog again already, this year has just flown by, I can’t tell you how much happiness, joy and pride teaching Burlesque Chair Dance has brought me.
Being an instructor is so so much more than just teaching dance fitness routines, watching all the ladies that attend grow in confidence before my eyes is truly overwhelming, so many came in unsure, shy, nervous and hiding themselves away, and now are up front wearing fishnets, telling their friends and practically glowing. They come to me and tell me how they have changed; how happy they are and are doing things they never dreamed they would. Learning to love themselves exactly how they are embracing their sexiness and their own body types (which all look amazing in those fishnets btw), not to mention it’s still a fitness class so while these sexy mammas are loving themselves anyway, they are still becoming fitter.
Some of the things we have gotten up-to have been so much fun and as I mentioned above the girls would never have dreamed of doing it before.
We have been along to photo club nights, themed around burlesque and got to be the ‘models’ for the evening.
We got invited along to a big charity scooter rally where again was part of a photo shoot for a charity scooter & pinup calendar, we also performed there and had big burly tattooed men join in our ‘leave your hat on’ dance routine. The girls were treated like celeb’s and all kept getting stopped for pics.
We also went on our first group trip to Doncaster for the Annual Show & Miss Burlesque UK Competitions, I can’t tell you how proud I was/am of my Noirettes for getting up on that stage for their first ever performance and knocking it out of the park. I very nearly cried watching them. Its ok though those tears were swapped to giggles (well gasps then cheers initially) when I slipped on a very lubricated stage due to a game with condoms being played before my instructor solo.. hahaha
Our next amazing adventure was getting ourselves a float in our local carnival.
The day came and we were all so excited, all dressed up burlesque style and/or in our BCD uniforms the girls were a tad nervous at the thought of people they know seeing them. It didn’t take long for them all to relax and thoroughly enjoy dancing around on the lorry to our songs and walking along side all through the town with a massive audience. We also had our very own unicorn, beautiful Sparks was a treasure on the day, such a good boy who didn’t mind all the music and crazy half naked ladies all wanting pics with him. Oh and we bagged 3rd prize for best float in our category naturally losing top spot to child friendly floats with kids.
Just last week we had our first Master Class, ostrich feather fans, I can’t tell you how many messages I got worrying about boobies and nipple tassels but on the day the girls absolutely loved it, you’d have never known any of them had any fears as they pranced around tassels and all, they all looked FABULOUS, I’m so proud of them all and can’t wait for the next.
We are now preparing for Open Stage Night, I’ll be doing Level 2 Instructor Training and then I hope to start planning a show of my own for the new year.
I want to say a massive thank you to all my girls, you are all so amazing and make me smile every day, I’d be lost without you all and genuinely love seeing each of you every week.
I thought I’d pinch a couple of testimonials from some of my ladies and paste them in here too, to show you all what an amazing place BCD class is, don’t hesitate to come along.
Absolutely love the classes and Autumn is a fab teacher and breaks the dances down each week. Everyone is so friendly and I try and go to 2 classes when I can. – Gill Grilli aka Dark Angel
I’ve been going every Monday for a few months now and love it! The current routine really works the legs and is so much fun. I also like the fact every member is so relaxed and makes you feel really welcome. – Sharon Newman aka Moonshine Chanel
Just the best thing I’ve ever done, my Mum and I went to the first class and we were hooked from the start. I have ridiculous amounts of confidence since Autumn came into my life. The opportunities that come along with it are fab, the girls are amazing and I rather like the fishnets too.

I can’t say how much I look forward to my Monday night Burlesque class. Autumn is a fantastic teacher who is so passionate about what she does. Along with our amazing teacher I’ve made so lovely friends in all the girls who go along to classes.
There are also other opertunitues along with the class, I’ve been to Doncaster and performed in the annual show and taken part in the local carnival.
The routines we learn are fun and it’s always exciting finding out what prop we are going to dance with, a hat, a glove a boa the list goes on.
No mater what your age or size by the end of the class you feel like one sexy, confident woman.
Fantastic!!!!! – Lisa Matthewman aka Ziffi Etoile
Absolutely love the classes! Autumn is amazing and such a friendly bunch of girls too! I’m so glad to be part of it! I’ve never really been into gyms and rigid fitness regimes do nothing for me.. However coming to these classes each week is such a fun way of keeping fit, boosting confidence and more than anything having the best giggles! Definitely recommend it….. Anna Civil aka Kitten Rouge
When autumn set this up I went along for moral support, I never thought I would end up loving it as much as I do! I look forward to getting my kit out each week. We have a laugh, keep fit and definitely build confidence, I would never have left home in fishnets and hotpants before! Autumn is an amazing teacher, friendly and approachable if not a little scatty! Everyone is made to feel welcome in all our classes! Hope to see you there!! Jay Grange aka Magenta Snow
